Menu Information
The Berlin Inn's culinary team is proud to recreate the distinctive flavors
of the cuisine & pastries for which Germany is famous. Most of the cuisine
of The Berlin Inn is filled with the "mouthwatering " foods and
flavors brought to you from the old country by Marianne. In the fall of 1998,
we hired executive chef Zsolt Barabas who recreated Mariannes recipes and
graced our menu with his Hungarian influences. Zsolt has moved on in 2006
and now has his own restaurant.
The menu has a great variety of options including chicken, pork, beef, seafood,
& even vegetarian entrees. The foods prepared at The Berlin Inn are made
from scratch with the freshest ingredients available. We use only non-cholesterol
canola oil for all of our grilling & sauteing. Our foods contain no MSG.
Our menu also caters to those whomhave gluten free & low carb dietary
needs.
And of course all of the above would not be complete without an incredible
selction of beers and wines. We boast the NW's most comprehensive German Wine
Selection as well as a complete NW and worldly wine list over 150 selections.
As well as a glass pour list of 12-15 wines nightly.

Dawn Davis
General Manager / Wine & Beer buyer
Professional History
Dawn was born in Phoenix , Arizona. She and her family moved across the country from Arizona to Edmonton, Alberta, CA, then to Idaho, eventually relocating to Colorado when she was 12 years old. After settling rather more permanently in Colorado, she then graduated high school in Woodland Park, Colorado in 1995. After doing so, she moved to the Colorado Springs area where she worked at a small French Bistro, A fine-dining Pacific Rim Restaurant, and at the downtown's first Brewpub, all while attending the University of Colorado.
Let's preface all this by stating that Dawn started in the restaurant business all the way back in early junior high school, working as a dishwasher and busser at a small family restaurant. She then went on to work part time at various places while completing her education. Eventually she found her real passion fro food and wine while working as a server and manager at the Blue Star Restaurant in Colorado Springs. It was there that she first learned to make her own peppercorn port wine demi-glace & enjoyed the pleasure of tasting a $300.00 bottle of Opus One. Here she began to master the customer service world and how to keep bringing the same customers back again and again.
Her notable places of employment have been as follows:
La Creperie
The Blue Star
The Phantom Canyon Brewing Company
She has been employed here at the Berlin Inn since April of 2007. Since that
time, she has taken over the beer and wine purchasing and helped to maintain
the Berlin Inn's eclectic German beer list and one of Portland's best wine
lists. Since starting with the Berlin Inn Family, Dawn has taken over the
role that Marty Fouts held for the past several years, and although they were
big shoes to fill, literally, she has and will continue to do an outstanding
job at keeping up the high standards our customers have come to know and expect
over the past sixteen years.
